Kate DiCamillo's first novel, the Newbery Honor book BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE (Candlewick Press), will be made into a Broadway musical. BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE was released as a feature film in 2005, and the Newbery Medal-winning THE TALE OF DESPEREAUX was released last holiday season as an animated feature. Film rights to the forthcoming novel, THE MAGICIAN'S ELEPHANT (Candlewick Press, September) have been sold.

Adaption of TOMORROW, WHEN THE WAR BEGAN is the first novel in a series (The Tomorrow Series) of seven written by John Marsden. A film trilogy is planned. If the movies are successful, the other four books may be adapted as a television series.

Lance Armstrong biopic will be based on Armstrong's first book, IT'S NOT ABOUT THE BIKE, which he wrote with Sally Jenkins.
