Talking Shop in East Syracuse, New York, on May 18

May 05, 2004

The New England (NEBA) and New Atlantic Booksellers (NAIBA) associations will be holding a Shop Talk at the Holiday Inn Carrier Circle in East Syracuse, New York, on Tuesday, May 18, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The regional associations are co-sponsoring the event in an area in central New York State where independent booksellers -- many of whom are members of NEBA or NAIBA or both -- have a tough time attending regional meetings due to the travel distances. The East Syracuse Shop Talk is the brainchild of Rob Stahl, the general manager of Colgate Bookstore in Hamilton, New York.

Discussions on topics such as the adequacy of publishers' sales representation, distribution issues, and sales reporting are planned. ABA COO Oren Teicher will attend to provide updates on ABA programs and initiatives including Book Sense, bestseller reporting, and the gift card program.

For more information and to RSVP, contact Nancy Fish at NEBA at (800) 466-8711 or nancy@neba.org, or Veronica Hales at NAIBA at (877) 866-2422 or info@naiba.com.
