Special Bank of America Promotion for ABA Members

Booksellers should note that Bank of America, an American Booksellers Association affinity program partner, is offering ABA members a special promotion: The company is waiving the $75 application fee for member bookstores that sign up for its merchants services program by December 31, 2005. On October 31, Bank of America mailed a postcard to bookstore members detailing the offer.

"Bank of America's merchant services program for ABA members offers very competitive rates for processing credit cards and check cards [debit cards used off-line], explained Paula Deutz, ABA/BA Merchant Services representative. "The rates are tiered, so the more business you do, the more you save." She added that prospective customers who are planning on opening a bookstore in January or February should consider signing up now to get the benefit of the $75 application savings.
