L.A. Photo Journey: From Hotel ABA to the Convention Center
May 13, 2008
Morning rush hour in Los Angeles can be challenging at best, so the American
Booksellers Association is encouraging Hotel ABA guests to take the L.A. Metro
rail system on Friday morning during BookExpo America. That's when programming
moves from the Renaissance Hollywood to the Los Angeles Convention Center, and
taking the train to commute will be quicker than a shuttle bus or taxi.
Thanks to Frommer's Travel Guides and John Wiley & Sons, ABA member booksellers
can pick up a free Metro
Day Pass at the Hotel ABA Welcome Desk while supplies last.
The Hollywood and Highland Red Line Metro stop is just one short block from
the hotel, and directions to the convention center will be provided on the Metro
Pass sleeve. Knowing that a picture is worth a thousand words, however, Book
Soup's Tyson Cornell, a member of the Southern California Independent Booksellers
Association (SCIBA) Board and ABA's Booksellers Advisory Council, and Vroman's
Guinevere Platt, a part-time SCIBA staff member, have graciously put together
step-by-step instructions with photos that will make hopping the train even
easier for out-of-town booksellers.
