ABA Offers Suggested Hotel Accommodation Options for BEA

The 2008 Hotel ABA, The Renaissance Hollywood, is currently booked to capacity for several of the nights for which the American Booksellers Association negotiated a special rate for its bookseller members. ABA is providing booksellers with a list of other accommodation options in Hollywood.

Other hotel options (ABA reminds booksellers to read the hotel's cancellation policy carefully before booking a room. No special rates have been negotiated with these hotels):

Holiday Inn Hollywood
2005 North Highland Avenue
Hollywood, CA 90068
Tel: (323) 876-8600

Hotel Roosevelt
7000 Hollywood Boulevard
Hollywood, CA 90028
Tel: (800) 950-7667

Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn
2011 North Highland Avenue
Hollywood, CA 90068
Tel: (800) 445-4353

Bookseller members who wish to stay at Hotel ABA can still be added to the waiting list by contacting ABA's Margaret Nafz at Margaret@bookweb.org. In the meantime, since some nights are still available at Hotel ABA, ABA members are encouraged to reserve rooms for those nights that are available and to contact Nafz at Margaret@bookweb.org to be put on a waiting list for the unavailable nights. Reservations must be made via the hotel's dedicated ABA reservation webpage. As ABA receives cancellations, rooms will be filled from the waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis.

The association is asking booksellers who find they no longer need their Hotel ABA reservations to please contact Nafz as soon as possible rather than canceling with the hotel. Although hotel reservations were made directly with the Renaissance Hollywood, ABA is requesting booksellers notify the association of their desire to cancel so their rooms will remain in the ABA block and can be assigned to another bookseller.

Hotel ABA will be the site of the association's Day of Education as well as several ABA- and publisher-sponsored special events, beginning Wednesday. The BEA trade show will be held from Thursday, May 29, through Sunday, June 1, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
