A Plan for the First 100 Days of the 44th President

Released in e-book format this week, St. Martin's Press' The 100 Day Action Plan to Save the Planet by William S. Becker outlines a plan for the 44th President of the United States to "transform America's energy supply and economy." It is now available for purchase from bookstores participating in ABA's E-Commerce Solution as well as from other e-book sellers.

"This is a crucial moment in history, an opportunity for the next president to seize the initiative on climate change and create immense economic change and opportunity," said Matthew Baldacci, vice president, director of marketing and publishing operations at St. Martin's. "This report shows steps the president can take to reverse the damage done by our carbon fuel dependency, and as such we are honored to publish this important work."

Baldacci said that The 100 Day Action Plan is initially being released as an e-book to make the information available quickly, as well as to give St. Martin's an "opportunity to publish ... with a much smaller carbon impact."

The compendium of practical steps to save the planet includes catalyzing a new green industry by launching a "clean energy surge"; expanding green markets by requiring all federal buildings, facilities, and transportation to be fueled by green energy; rewarding early green innovation; and more. The author, William S. Becker, is the executive director of the Presidential Climate Action Project, a non-partisan initiative to transform energy and climate policy.

A POD version of this book will be available in three weeks.
